NOTE: I have these characters:

Gnome, Warlock (affliction-dps), Engineering (375+), Jewelcrafting (374)
Draenei, Shaman (restoration-healer), Skinning (375), Leatherworking (Dragonscale, 375)
(low level) Blood Elf, Paladin (protection-tank), Enchanting (low), Jewelcrafting (low)
(low level) Elf, Druid (feral-dps), Herbalism (low), Alchemy (low)
(mid level) Human, Mage (frost-dps), Enchanter (mid-high), Tailor (low-mod)

So this list will be maintained according to those needs. Make suggestions if you wish, but I cannot keep any other combination of race-class-profession up-to-date since I can't really properly continuously-test those other AddOns.

These steps will start you from scratch, as though you had a completely new installation of WoW.

If you want to guarantee that you have the same stuff that I do, this is the easiest way to go.

If you're more of a power user, of course you'd completely bypass these steps. =)

[edit] Updating these addons

It's a good idea to back up your Cache, Interface and WTF folders before running an update.

Ace AddOns

Run the WowAceUpdater
press F10. Give it some time and it'll refresh itself. It won't tell you when it's done. When it says 'Ready...' at the bottom, then you can exit it.

Curse AddOns

Other AddOns

Visit the AddOn's page to learn if there is a new version
Download the new version
Unzip it in a temporary place
Look at the list of folders you've created. In your AddOns folder, delete any matching folder names. You will not be deleting the preferences for the AddOn, don't worry.
Move the folder into your AddOns folder.
